You’re invited to meet & greet house parties for our local Democratic candidates for the Idaho State Legislature on Sunday, September 27 (mid-Valley) and Sunday, October 11 (in Elkhorn) 4:00-5:30PM. 

If you’re able to attend one or both events please RSVP to Chuck Jones  at chuck.jones@stanfordalumni.org. He will provide you with the address for the event that you choose to attend.

In this red-leaning state, it is essential to maintain and grow the number of Democrats in the Legislature. These are the people who help prevent harmful programs from being implemented and vital programs from being curtailed or decimated. District 26 Democrats are essential to this equation.

To illustrate why every vote counts, Ned Burns, a former Democratic representative from District 26, won by just 37 votes out of 15,887 cast four years ago. The Idaho Legislature has 105 members: 70 in the House, including nine Democrats, and 35 in the Senate, including six Democrats. It is imperative that we increase the number of Democrats in the Legislature.

Come and meet folks with a similar mindset—there and more of us here than meets the eye. There will be snacks and light refreshments so come early and talk with candidates Anita Janis, former educator and College Dean who lives in Jerome; Kevin Marsh, former Idaho University History professor (leading historian on water and land usage) and now farmer in Bellevue and Senator Ron Taylor, former Wood River firefighter, paramedic and Captain.

We hope you will come to one of our events. There is no financial obligation to attend; however, after meeting the candidates we urge you to consider supporting their campaigns. It is unfortunate that raising money is such a critical component of running for office, so if you are not able to attend, please consider donating to them anyway.
